Bikini Guide - finding the perfect beach attire

2014-08-23

Bikini Guide - finding the perfect beach attire... Enjoy!

Bikini Guide - finding the perfect beach attire... (E) The very minutes you're reading this post, our plane is landing in Mallorca and I am off to finally enjoy some quality summer time with some of my best friends. To get you guys into some kind of summer feeling even if you're not going abroad this summer I prepared a little last minute Bikini Guide for you! If you're not on holiday and want to get a little insight into my week in Mallorca feel free to follow me on Instagram (@fashionisforidiots)! Today's Bikini Guide will give you both a little insight into my personal swimwear collection and all the benefits / information for the different versions and brands. Enjoy!

A few weeks ago Hunkemöller asked me to choose my favorite swimwear model for my upcoming holiday - and let me tell you I was so happy about this opportunity! I had been sneaking around our local Hunkemöller store for weeks looking for the best sale deals in under-, home- and swimwear but I told myself that I am not in the need for another bikini... I stand corrected - you can never have enough swimwear! So, I chose a bandeau top and standard bottom with the most perfect tropical print I have seen in ages! The colorful pattern and the cute pearl detail on the straps makes it my #1 choice for a day at the beach. I went for a size small - both in top and bottom and they're fitting perfectly!
PS: Good news: check out the huge swimwear sales section here.

Admit it - who doesn't want to wear a Triangl Bikini? Oh yes, we all want one. Although I never fully got the hype about this type of bikini I can now relate: The fit (I chose XS for both top and bottom) is amazing and it feels like a second skin when swimming! Also, the cut of the model 'milly' and the beautiful, bright turquoise color 'Santa Rosa Splash' is breathtaking and will definitely make you center of interest on the beach or hotel pool... Nevertheless, I personally think it's a bikini made for swimming only and that there are definitely better options when it comes to lying around in the sun for hours of tanning. The neoprene material perfectly works its magic in the water but not in the sun. Make sure to choose a size smaller to enjoy a perfect fit!

This 50's inspired bikini was a gorgeous find at Accessorize last summer and it's been my companion to many beautiful destinations already. The bright turquoise color and the lovely dots already make it an eye catcher but what's my favorite feature about this model is the cute ruffles on both bottom and top. Surely, ruffles only highlight certain parts such as hips and bust; however, I would say they work perfectly for athletic body types and make your skinny body look a little fuller. Get yourself one of these cute 50's bikinis or swimsuits for your personal Marylin moment at the beach!
Shop similar ones here and here.

The last bikini I'd like to show you today is one I found randomly when browsing the swimwear section of a large department store chain. The cute bikini with its outstanding tropical print immediately caught my eye and I was more than happy when my size was still left. It's a rather 'standard' version of a bikini; its top's cut is similar to the one of a regular bra which is nice when you think of all the weird tan lines fancy bikinis can give you... Since the bikini was rather low-priced I decided to just get it. To be quite honest with you it's been the piece of swimwear I've been wearing non-stop this summer. Maybe it'll get a little pause while I am on vacation so all the other gorgeous models get their great performance on the beaches of Mallorca...

I hope you liked my little guide!
Enjoy your summer!

Keeping it cool and comfy

2014-08-10

White Jeans: Mavi (on Sale here) // Top: Mango // Necklace: Bijou Brigitte (here) //
Heels: via Nordstrom Rack // Bag: H&M

Keeping it cool and comfy...(E) Since I can call this perfect white pair of jeans by Mavi my own, I am wearing it non-stop! The airy and super comfy pair of jeans is perfect for these typically German summer day with this hot and humid heat around noon and thunderstorms and rain in the afternoon. This outfit works all day long! I just pull up the pants leg a little, add nude colored high heels, an airy top - and voila! To spice the light outfit up a bit I chose my colorful Bijou Brigitte necklace which earns its reputation as real 'statement necklace'! I hope you guys like my outfit!

Love,
Nathalie

Birkenstock & Denim - Easy Day Look

2014-08-06

Denim shorts: Tally Weijl // Top: Zara // Necklace: Bijou Brigitte // Cardigan: Ralph Lauren
// Bag: H&M // Earrings: Tiffany & Co. // Shoes: Birkenstock

Birkenstock & Denim - Easy Day Look..

Birkenstock & Denim - Easy Day Look... (E) I've been wearing my super comfy, yet stylish, Birkenstocks for weeks now and I still haven't managed to present them to you. I prefer to pair them with easy and casual looks since I just don't dare to try out a more elegant look with the shoes yet. Many fashion blogs inspired me to finally get the Birkenstocks and I don't regret my decision at all! I got them for a voucher my friends once got me and my feet are in love with the new comfort! (If you want to spoil your friends with a voucher, have a look here). To be quite honest, my outfit today is not the most spectacular; it's an outfit for one of these days when you have a nervous breakdown in front of your closet and there are only two pieces that always (always!) work out: jeans & a white T-Shirt. I could not be happier with this simple and casual look I chose the look for a day at work and an after-work-dinner with Vashionessa. I hope you guys like my super easy outfit!

Love,
Nathalie

Hello again!

2014-08-04

Top: Zara (on Sale!) // Jeans: Abercrombie & Fitch // Heels: Sacha Shoes // Necklace: Madeleine Issing

Hello again!

Hello again! (E) After about a month without any post on the blog I am finally back! My absence has several reasons but the main one actually was my rather stupid decision to get bangs - yeah, right, like a 4-year old. And that's exactly how I looked like (according to my friends and family) and so you'll see me wearing these lovely bobby pins for the next weeks. Additionally, I was busy sitting on my desk writing the last essays for university. I am not done yet but I just can't stay away from blogging for longer. Also, I got so many new pieces of clothing, jewelry and shoes which I can't wait to share with you! Today's outfit post is all about a not so summery look for one of the usual rainy summer days in Germany. The top I am wearing is a gorgeous Sale find at Zara (yeah, I could not resist) and the super hot high heels / cut out heels are by Sacha Shoes. Since the shoes are already sold out, look at these alternatives I found here and here. I hope you like my outfit despite the jeans which were totally nescessary because of the bad weather!

Love,
Nathalie

PS: I know you missed my Veranda shootings.
